What is Accessibility Testing?
Accessibility Testing is a testing type that determines the ease of use of the software under test for users with disabilities.
This may include testing of the degree to which a visually impaired user can use screen reading technology to audibly communicate information from the system. It may also include optimising colour schemes to suit colour-blind users, or visual aids for users with impaired hearing.
Accessibility Testing may be required to comply with legislation, or simply to maximise the usability of the software. In the context of web-based systems, WCAG guidelines provide a standard framework to use as requirements for accessibility. This framework can be easily tested using browser extensions, or by integrating with Selenium in order to automate the process in a continuous testing process.
